Jaimi Cortes is the founder of COR Philanthropic Strategies, a philanthropic advising practice, with more than 25 years of experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. As an award-winning philanthropic advisor and social impact consultant, she specializes in charitable strategy, grantmaking, donor engagement, and foundation governance. She works with individuals, families, and foundations to align their wealth with their values and design thoughtful, high-impact giving strategies.
Over the course of her career, Jaimi has facilitated the distribution of more than $200 million in charitable gifts through donor-advised funds and foundations. Jaimi is recognized for her innovative portfolio-based approach to achieving measurable social impact. She brings a distinctive perspective shaped by deep community roots and a strong ability for building trust across donors, nonprofits, and the communities they serve. She is particularly skilled at helping individuals and families move from charitable intent to clear, structured, and purposeful giving that integrates seamlessly with broader financial and legacy planning.
Jaimi was the first in her family to graduate from college and received her BA in women’s studies and political science at UCLA and MBA from Pepperdine University. She is an active member of the UCLA Alumni Scholarship Committee, her local middle school, and with various giving circles. The mother of a dynamic 13 year old, Jaimi is focused on raising her as a strong, independent and joyful human being.
